Grant Awardees for 2008

The Walter Johnson Education Foundation is pleased to award grants to Kevin Daney in the Art, Technology and Computer Sciences Department and Sylvie Ellen in the English Department. Kevin completed a training course on new software to help students understand and visualize mechanical systems. Sylvie is in the process of completing a Journalism course that will help improve student skills in design, editing and critical analysis. Congratulations and thank you for participating in the Grant Program.

The Foundation will review additional grant requests in the Fall of 2008. The Foundation would like to encourage the staff at WJ to consider applying for either a Professional Development Grant or General Grant for developing and implementing programs that will enhance student learning. Marney Jacobs, president of the WJHS Education Foundation, presents Dr. Garran with a $20,000 check for the school to use towards the new Language Lab. WJ thanks all of the parents who have generously supported the foundation.
