Kensington 8K - The Kensington 8K is held annually in the fall and is well known among local and regional running aficionados. In 2007, 2008, and 2009, a portion of the proceeds had been dedicated to the WJ Education Foundation. Thank you Kensington 8K!

Kensington - The Town of Kensington showed its support for Walter Johnson by making a donation of $550 to the foundation. The Kensington-Parkwood ES PTA contributed $2,000 to the foundation in 2007. The support of the entire Kensington community is greatly appreciated. |
Luxmanor PTA - Many thanks to the Luxmanor ES PTA for its contribution of $2,007 to the foundation. Luxmanor is the home of many future members of WJ’s classes of 2014 through 2019 who will enjoy the benefits of WJ’s on-going modernization. |
Fall Gala and Silent Auction at the Ratner Museum - The Dec. 5, 2009 Gala and Silent Auction was a Huge Success! THANK YOU to Everyone Involved!
Thank you to our generous donors who provided items that enticed active bidding; thank you to all the attendees who made it a great party and supported WJ; thank you to our parent volunteers who helped with all aspects of the auction and the event; thank you to Mr. K and the fantastic musicians who provided entertainment; thank you to the WJ staff and students who contributed their time, provided items for the auction and helped set up; thank you to Dr. Garran and Mr. Merrill for their warm and enthusiastic commitment to our school; thank you to our young alums for sharing their Saturday evening helping with the event. In short- this is why WJ is such a tremendous community.

Gala - The foundation’s first spring gala was a success as 148 participants attended the May 4, 2007 showing of Fiddler on the Roof in Walter Johnson’s newly renovated auditorium. Before the show, the participants enjoyed tours of the new facility led by Dr. Garran and dinner catered by High Point Farm. The gala raised over $6,500 towards the modernization of WJ. Special thanks to Stacey Rose-Blass and Marilyn Bagel for co-chairing the evening and Tracey Harris for taking charge of the dinner. THANK YOU to our Gala Sponsors! |
